So has it really been since the beginning of October since my last post?! Holy moly...sorry guys! Not much has been going on here. Halloween was interesting here. I was sure that we would get some trick or treaters at our house, especially since we live in a sub-division, but no one came. Sad...I'm pretty sure the Brits celebrate Halloween, all the stores had decor and there are lots of "fancy" shops (aka costume stores). So who knows. But since no one showed up, we headed out to a big squadron haunted house halloween party. Sam and some of the other guys dressed up as Tetris pieces and I was the nerdy girl gamer. We won best costume!!
It was super foggy out...kinda perfect for the party though.
(Sam is the red Tetris piece)
We had a wonderful thanksgiving with some friends here at our house. We actually ended up celebrating it early, since alot of our friends were going on trips over the 4-day weekend. But it worked out really nice. We had tons of food and even deep fried a turkey for the first time...so yummy! Sam and I liked it so much, we bought another turkey on actual Thanksgiving day and deep fried it. Haha. Plus, that way we had lots of left overs for delicious turkey sandwiches. :)
We opted to stay home for the 4-day weekend. It was so nice to just relax and hang out with each other, especially since Sam works so much during the week. Some days, I feel like we hardly see each other.
I have been so stinkin excited for Christmas and decorating the house (keep in mind the Brits have had their Christmas decorations up since the end of October, so I was feeling behind) that I made Sam let us get our tree the day after Thanksgiving. I wanted it earlier but he wouldn't have it. ;) So friday, when all of the US was out enjoying black friday shopping (which I won't get to experience for 3 years...sad) we decorated our tree and listened to lots of christmas music. Oh but that reminds me of a funny story. The weekend before Thanksgiving, Sam and I were making dinner, talking about what we should do for the big 4-day weekend coming up and he said "whatever we do, I am not getting up early friday to hit up all the sales". And I reminded him that we do live in England and since they don't celebrate Thanksgiving, there won't be "Black Friday" here. Haha...he seemed to relieved. But I made sure to tell him that since I was missing out on all the fun for the next 3 years, we would be going once we got back to the states. :)
Other than decorating for Christmas, we just hung out with some friends that were in town for the weekend, saw a movie and went out to dinner. It was a nice chillaxin time.
I can't hardly believe that its already December. Time is just flying by! We've been hearing some rumors about our squadron being deployed in the next couple of months and that has me worried. The guys are usually only gone for a couple of weeks (which if they have to go, I'm thankful thats its not for months at a time) but it'll be hard to be left here all alone. So please keep us in your prayers. If sam has to go, please pray for his safety and that I won't be to sad and that I can keep busy when he's gone. I hope everyone is doing well and having a wonderful holiday season! We love you guys!
